Yarra Valley Wedding Venues Where the Party Kicks On

Immerse Yarra Valley Wedding Videography with Directors Edge

The Yarra Valley might be a dream destination for some, but for me, it’s home turf. I’ve grown up here my whole life, and after over 18 years in the wedding videography game, I like to think I’ve got a pretty good read on the spots that make a wedding day truly epic. So, here’s my take: a list of some of the best Yarra Valley wedding venues – each with its own vibe, charm, and potential to make your day unforgettable (and look absolutely amazing on film).

Potters Receptions

Located right at the gateway to the Yarra Valley in Warrandyte (just 20 minutes from Melbourne CBD), Potters Receptions has been one of my go-to spots for filming unforgettable weddings over the past 18 years. Every time I roll up, it honestly feels like coming home, perfectly perched between the city buzz and the peaceful foothills of the Yarra Valley.

Weddings at Potters are always a breeze to capture. With onsite accommodation for guests and your wedding crew, the vibe is instantly relaxed – there’s no stressing about traffic or rushing around. There are three standout ceremony spots: under the wisteria, in the stunning onsite chapel, or tucked away in the intimate courtyard. Absolute gold for Melbourne’s unpredictable weather – your Plan B will still look epic on camera no matter what the weather gods throw at you.

When it comes to the reception, Potters doesn’t disappoint. The space accommodates up to 220 legends, with a huge dance floor, a top-notch in-house PA system, and food and drinks that flow all night. Every wedding here has that perfect mix of relaxed vibes, epic celebration energy, and scroll-stopping visuals for your wedding film.

Acacia Ridge

Acacia Ridge is hands-down one of the Yarra Valley wedding venues that has it all – breathtaking views, lush greenery, and a vibe that’s equal parts relaxed and epic. I’ve filmed countless weddings here, and every time it feels like the perfect playground for couples looking for a day that’s unforgettable from start to finish.

The ceremony spaces are absolutely dreamy. Picture saying your vows with rolling hills and vineyards stretching for miles as your backdrop, and an aisle that’s pure main-character energy – perfect for photographers and videographers to capture those show-stopping moments. And if Melbourne decides to rain on your parade, the indoor space is just as stunning, with a team that’ll make sure your wedding celebration runs seamlessly.

One of the most common questions I get from couples planning a Yarra Valley wedding is: “Where’s the venue with the marquee?” This is it. The marquee at Acacia Ridge is epic – ideal for a sit-down feast or a cocktail-style celebration, with a dance floor off to the side that can handle all your party legends. This venue nails the mix of relaxed vibes, big celebration energy, and jaw-dropping Yarra Valley views that your guests (and you) will remember forever.

Log Cabin Ranch

One of my absolute favourite spots to film in the Yarra Valley, The Log Cabin Ranch is a DIY couple’s dream. You get so much freedom to celebrate your day exactly how you want. Nestled on a private 10 acre property in the stunning Dandenong Ranges, this venue has a rich history (it was originally a family run school camp) and is now run by two of the nicest humans in the Yarra Valley wedding industry, Courtney + Mark.

Ceremony options? Plenty. Whether you’re dreaming of the Secret Garden, the open lawn with the Paddock Arbour, or even The Stables, there’s a spot to suit whatever vibe you’re after. Onsite accommodation makes it even better – a bunkhouse for up to 70 guests, plus several glamping tents – you can turn your wedding into a full weekend of fun. Check in Friday, marry on Saturday, and recover on Sunday with a casual breakfast while swapping stories from the night before.

Reception-wise, the sky’s the limit. With the central open lawn, you can bring in your own marquee, teepee, or styling setup, and the historic barn next door doubles as an overflow and dance floor under the stars. The relaxed LCR vibe means there are no rules – your celebration can be as unique as you are.

It’s a vendors’ dream too. Bring your own catering (hello, food trucks!) or lean on the venue’s carefully curated supplier list to make your day run smoothly. Big or small, The Log Cabin Ranch delivers relaxed vibes, unforgettable energy, and jaw-dropping Yarra Valley views your guests – and your wedding film – will never forget.

🎬 Without a doubt one of my fav places to document all the love – Tori + Josh’s wedding had all the feels for a rustic Log Cabin Ranch party.

Immerse Winery

Immerse Winery is one of those Yarra Valley wedding venues that just works – absolutely perfect for couples who want to keep things relaxed, fun, and effortlessly beautiful. Nestled in Dixons Creek, the vineyards and manicured gardens create a picture-perfect backdrop, and after filming here regularly over the past 18 years, I can honestly say every wedding I’ve shot here has been a joy (both as a vendor and for the guests).

When it comes to ceremonies, there are three standout options. The vineyard chapel is stunning, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing sweeping vineyard views. There’s also the open garden chapel overlooking the ornamental lake and rose garden, or the wide-open paddock if you want full freedom to design your ceremony exactly how you like. Each spot is a dream to film and photograph, making golden-hour shots a breeze.

One of the biggest drawcards? The onsite accommodation. With 20 boutique rooms, there’s plenty of space for your wedding party, parents, or guests, plus a bridal suite with gorgeous natural light and plenty of room to relax. Having everything on-site makes the day feel stress-free, giving me the chance to float between both parties’ prep locations without missing a moment.

The reception space is just as versatile. Open, flooded with natural light, and perfect for intimate gatherings of 60 or larger celebrations up to 170 guests, it works beautifully for both sit-down dinners and cocktail-style receptions. The flexibility of the space means you can truly make the day your own.

The grounds are enormous, offering heaps of locations for photos and films. Planning a first look? There’s plenty of private spots away from guests, and just a quick 2-minute drive up the hill gives you full 360-degree views and epic sunsets – the kind of shots that’ll make your film epic.

The Farm Yarra Valley

Tucked away in Warrandyte South (just a quick 20-minute drive from Melbourne CBD), The Farm Yarra Valley is one of those wedding venues that nails the sweet spot between rustic country vibes and city convenience. If you’re after wide open spaces, vineyard views, and a setting that feels like a full-blown celebration without the stress, this place delivers in spades.

When it comes to your ceremony, you’ve got two killer options. Tie the knot out the front of the iconic rustic barn for that picture-perfect country wedding feel, or head inside the barn itself – the ultimate backup plan for Melbourne’s unpredictable weather. Whether it’s a 40-degree scorcher or a cosy winter’s day, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your “I do’s” are covered no matter what.

Post-ceremony, the energy at The Farm Yarra Valley is always super relaxed. While your guests kick back on the lawn with canapés and Rob Dolan wines, you’re spoiled for choice with portrait locations. From the gardens and rolling vines to the paddocks just across the road (yes, complete with cows and goats), it’s a dream location for your wedding photography and videography.

The reception space is where the magic really kicks in. Farm-to-plate dining and estate wines mean your guests are in foodie heaven, while the space itself works perfectly for both intimate gatherings and larger weddings. And one of the coolest parts? You can host your speeches outside under the stars on balmy summer nights, then move inside when it’s time to clear the tables and unleash a dance floor that’ll keep the party going well into the night.

The Farm Yarra Valley is everything you want in a Yarra Valley wedding venue – relaxed vibes, unforgettable views, and plenty of room to make your wedding film one for the ages.

Flowerdale Estate

Just a quick 50-minute cruise from the Yarra Valley (and right on the edge of the Macedon Ranges) sits Flowerdale Estate – a heritage wedding venue packed with country charm. With its 1842 homestead, rolling hills, and endless views, it’s the perfect “not too far, not too close” wedding destination that feels like a proper getaway without sending your guests on a mission.

When it comes to your ceremony, you’re spoilt for choice. Say your vows under the giant oak tree with sweeping valley views, head lakeside for a picturesque moment by the water, or keep things cosy indoors if Melbourne weather decides to flex. Every option gives you a completely different vibe – which means your wedding film is guaranteed to have a mix of stunning backdrops.

One of the biggest wins of a Flowerdale Estate wedding? Onsite accommodation. The boutique rooms and historic homestead let you turn your day into a whole weekend of celebrations. Arrive Friday night, tie the knot on Saturday, then wrap it all up with a cruisy recovery brunch on Sunday as everyone relives the d-floor highlights.

Reception-wise, the Pavilion is an absolute gem – light-filled, spacious, and versatile enough to suit everything from intimate sit-down dinners to epic cocktail parties. Add in the estate’s farm-to-table menus and local wines, and you’ve got that perfect mix of good food, good vibes, and plenty of space to party the night away.

From a videographer’s lens, Flowerdale Estate is a dream. You’ve got rolling paddocks, secret garden corners, wide open skies, and those golden hour portraits that hit different out here. It’s rustic, romantic, and full of story-driven backdrops that will make your wedding film as timeless as the venue itself.

🎞️ Sweeping rolling hills and country vistas aplenty, Chloe + Chris’ Flowerdale Estate wedding had it all.
